Based on my Valentine's Day experience, I'd say love is...

Doing the dishes and taking out the trash without being asked.

Sitting through your girlfriend's various mandatory school performances and pretending to enjoy them.

A Thousand Cranes

Eating the burned grilled cheese sandwich and leaving the golden one for her.


Giving thoughtful gifts.


Suffering through the Twilight movie because she asked you to.

Also I would just like to note that of course the weekend we picked to go the zoo, we found out both zebras had died 5 days previously under mysterious circumstances...weird squared.
